Apple Harvest Scavenger Hunt

Welcome to the 2026 Apple Harvest Festival Scavenger Hunt!

Explore Downtown Ithaca, visit local businesses, solve the puzzles, and enter for your chance to win some great prizes!

How to Play:

1. There are two scavenger hunt routes for you to enjoy: red apples and green apples!
2. To start your hunt, use this interactive map which shows the participating Downtown stores (look for the 'Scavenger Hunt Participant' poster in their windows).
3. In each store, you are looking for letters on a plaque and/or poster that will help you solve the phrase. The red phrase has 19 letters, and the green has 20 letters.
4. The apples will be OBVIOUS - there will be no tolerance for destruction of any participating businesses.
5. Solve the word scramble using the letters to produce the phrase. Once you figure out the phrase(s), submit your answers for entry into the prize raffle.

Completing 1 phrase = one raffle entry!

Completing 2 phrases = two raffle entries!

Prizes

For the general public, prizes include Downtown Ithaca gift cards! For students, prizes also include Wegmans gift cards, free climbing passes and rentals at Cayuga Climbs, a trip with OurBus, and more.

Scavenger Hunt Dates

Submissions accepted from Friday September 25 at 12 PM to Sunday September 27 at 10 PM. Complete your hunt during Apple Harvest Festival weekend and submit your answers before the 2026 entry deadline to be eligible for the prize drawing.
